Resource requirements depend primarily on sending volume. The following guidelines and requirements apply to a typical Docker installation:
Platform
A Linux host with Docker and Docker Compose is recommended as the standard setup.
Resources
As a guideline: 2–4 vCPUs, 4–8 GB RAM and 40 GB SSD storage, depending on sending volume.
Domain and network
A domain or subdomain, HTTPS, a static IPv4 address with a reverse DNS record, and the required open ports.
Deployment
Your team or IT service provider handles installation, applying the supplied updates, monitoring, backups and recovery.

Where is the data stored?
The application runs on your infrastructure. The database, files, contacts, forms and sending data are generally stored there. Optional features or integrations may involve external services.
Does mailfino need a cloud connection?
Core operation does not require a mandatory marketing cloud. External services may be used for certain optional features or integrations.
Are there contact or sending limits?
mailfino does not bill Self-Hosted by contact count or sending volume. Actual sending performance depends on your infrastructure, configuration and reputation.
Which features does Free Self-Hosted include?
Free Self-Hosted can be used in production on an ongoing basis and includes newsletters, contacts, lists, segments, forms, double opt-in, basic autoresponders, standard reporting and your own mail transfer agent. The REST API, webhooks, supported standard integrations and regular vendor support are not included.
Do I need an IT service provider for installation?
No. Technically experienced customers or partners can install and operate mailfino themselves. Alternatively, an IT service provider can handle this. Business Launch is an optional onboarding service.
Who handles updates and backups?
mailfino provides regular product and security updates. Your team or IT service provider plans and installs updates and is responsible for monitoring, backups and recovery of your own environment.
What happens when Business or Enterprise expires?
When the license expires, the installation reverts to the Free Self-Hosted feature set. Customer data and configurations are retained. Paid features are paused and become available again after renewal.
